Newsletter 1.27
Happy Friday!
My friend Wade asked me to do this thing called Project 50.
Project 50 is a cute way of saying “get your sh*t together”. It’s just seven things everyday that are basic healthy habits.
At first I did one of those sighs… you know where you are anxiously figuring out how to say no nicely.
…then I said sure. (I already did 5/7 check marks, maybe it wouldn't be so hard)
It has been 83 days since we started and Wade made some big moves.
Let's go back to June 2022.
Wade and I met through a Newsletter Slack (shout out to Web3 Daily).
We immediately hit it off. Easy conversation, similar hobbies – you know the kind of friends I am talking about. Just an easy fit.
SO!
Come November (the start of Project 50) Wade joined me for my 5:30 wake up call (classic NYC hard-o move). He made space for consistent exercise. He upped his journaling, reading, and drinks more tea now. He enjoys earlier mornings than later nights. The biggest shift:
His mindset.
You see, Wade is a coast guard vet, he’s held a top secret clearance, “did stuff” with spy planes (that's all he could tell me…), worked with the FBI, built iPhone apps, and taught others how to do the same…
Recently, I’d noticed Wade became more sure of his next big leap.
Wade was just accepted to one of the country's best acting schools (I bet you didn't see that coming).
He also finished a half marathon last weekend. With a new PR.
Now, he's working toward the 9+1 marathon qualification. And, he has other stepping stone goals that he's stoked about.
Doing something for 50 days has a powerful impact. For both Wade and I it was the impact of doing.
Alas, here I am with a run club and newsletter.
My question to you:
If there is ONE thing you want to do, why haven't you done it yet?
You can always start by coming to run club tomorrow ;)
(TBH the people at run club are some of the coolest folks I’ve ever met- other than @chevy who says he doesn’t run.)
Regardless- Shoutout to Wade on the accomplishments. I would love to hear what you have all been working on too.
XX,
Caite
PS. Pictures of last week's run club are below. Spoonful Oats were AMAZING. I can't recommend them enough. I bought a case already.
